David’s books have achieved unprecedented critical acclaim—with many reviewers comparing him to his all-time hero, Roald Dahl. After this fantastic installment to ‘The World’s Worst’ series, I can’t wait to see what David Walliams comes up with next. But as parent/librarian, I'm now getting annoyed at the deterioration in quality of Walliams' writing to the extent that I'm struggling to even read them aloud to my 6-year-old.My boys and I actually came up with suggestions for the author in the car this holiday, as alternatives to More Worlds' Worst Children (suggestions available on request, Mr W). His debut children's novel, The Boy in the Dress, was published in 2008 to unanimous critical acclaim and he has since developed a reputation as a natural successor to Roald Dahl.
Filled with all the wacky and wonderful characters in David Walliams' books, you can download any of these free activity sheets for hours of fun and learning at home!
I liked the idea 💡of werewolf family to worry this story might incourage young children to get a pen pal from they schools by reading 📚the chapter about werewolves.
