We also witness the occasional and very compelling appearance of a huge, Lovecraftian creature who catalogues the dead, giving the suggestion that the afterlife is in fact a library. You are sick and tired of living, and you will do everything in your power, whether you believe it true or not, to keep on.

Instead, we’re left to ponder whether Remender is crafting a direct stand-in for Donald Trump or merely a manifestation of the cauldron of anger and fear that led to his troubling ascent.Especially with Hollingsworth's colours - he's a great colourist (but I more enjoy him in a combination with some other artists). At the same time, the last of a group of clerics make a last ditch effort to stop the Mud King and break his connection to those under his thrall. Dragon’s appearance at the conclusion provides a sense of inevitability as to Osidis’ doom: here is the wealth, and Dragan is there for it.

Highly visionary graphic novel that blends multiple genres ranging from dark fantasy, sci-fi, to a bit of Western. Remender has plenty of experience writing high concept stories, but there are times in Seven to Eternity where his dialogue gets a bit clunky - be prepared for some of it to fly over your head. Opena's art is beautiful, plenty of cool monsters, beasts, characters and locations for him to draw and they are done so exquisitely.

The story may be a forgivable "man on a quest to save family" thing which then things escalate very quickly, but god, the art is so good to look at that I frequently stop and postpone reading the speech bubbles just to admire the illustrations. When Adam, our protag, points out that an ideal gives someone something to live for, the Big Bad counters that those ideals “make them delusional and easier for men like me to manipulate. El rey del lodo ciego del todo, pero forzándose a cumplir con su promesa, mientras Osidis sigue en esa espiral de lamentos y llantos de lo injusto que es la vida con el.Phenomenal art with terrific colors and detailed creature designs; wonderfully inventive world-building with a great magic system (particularly love the huge metal-jawed lizardman who can teleport people by swallowing them); and standard issue shoddy, disappointing Remender writing. We're kind of thrown into this world and lore is dispersed a little in each issue, A "hit the ground running" instance occurs. And he does destroy some fantasy tropes along the way, like Adam's found family, which evolves about as far from "found" and "family" as one can get.
