But not anymore… Grenade appears to have detonated the theory that flavour should be compromised when producing low-carb protein bars, and the shrapnel of evidence is their Carb Killa range. They can also be consumed by the everyday person who’s looking to build muscle or by the person who’s just generally wanting to increase their daily protein intake.

When we started to dig into the other nutritional stats of the Lidl protein bar, this is where we expected things to unravel. And if you have any doubt as to the quality of these tasty treats, you will be glad to know that they are Informed-Sport approved and credited. The base is the same nougat-like centre as the rest of the bars but with a soft peanut flavour in this case.These highly-charged treats will blow your socks off with explosive flavour, dynamite texture, and minefield of flavours. They’ve gotten into the Christmas spirit and put a bit more effort into the appearance with this bar.

As of writing this article there are 13 different flavours, ranging from white chocolate, caramel, chocolate fudge brownie and birthday cake! Yes, protein bars have been available in supermarkets, but they are normally tucked away in a dark corner with energy bars and sports gels.
