I was pleasantly surprised to find that everything seemed to be set up – there was no rubbing of the disc brakes and the gears were nearly perfect (they required a small adjustment).

I used to have a hard time running 20km, but now I can easily run 40 or 50km without pain, which is really good for my health! The higher the pedal assist level you select, the more energy the motor needs and the faster the battery drains.And, there is a front headlight which can be operated from the display – I haven’t had a chance to test it in the dark, but I would imagine it will be fine for urban commutes in the winter months.

The battery can be detached to charge indoors if you like (they supply two keys which can lock and unlock the battery mount). Try to ride with the wind at your back, or minimize your frontal area to reduce wind resistance by tucking your elbows and crouching down slightly. For those that have ill health, or unable to cycle long distance, the addition of a squeezable throttle could be a massive plus on this purchase (for private land - obvs.I road it a little the first day ( bad weather hit) and could hardly sleep because of the anticipation of riding today.
