If you are taking a Practical or Performance Grade 6, 7 or 8, you must pass Grade 5 or above in Music Theory before you book your exam.Beyond grade 8, music exams can be taken at diploma level – there are 2 levels post grade 8, roughly equivalent to undergraduate 1st year and Bachelors degrees.
